Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton charged to his first pole position since the closing stages of the 2021 season with a scintillating lap around the Hungaroring on Saturday.
The seven-time world champion was in imperious form throughout qualifying and saved his best for last, clocking a time of 1:18.376s to finish 0.055s ahead of Red Bull's Sergio Perez. It was Hamilton's third pole of the season and the 102nd of his F1 career.
Mercedes teammate George Russell will line up alongside Hamilton on the front row, while the second Red Bull of Max Verstappen will start third.
The Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will start fourth and fifth, respectively, ahead of the Alpine of Fernando Alonso.
