Tornado Disaster Strikes Clarksville
Devastating Storm Leaves Path of Destruction
Homes Destroyed, Lives Upended
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Clarksville, Tennessee, causing widespread damage and leaving residents reeling. The tornado, which struck on Wednesday evening, was part of a broader stretch of severe weather that swept across the South.
According to preliminary reports, the tornado touched down north of Clarksville near Tennessee's border with Kentucky at about 1:35 p.m. CST. It then traveled northeast, leaving a path of destruction that extended for more than five miles.
Homes and businesses were destroyed, trees were uprooted, and power lines were downed. Several people were injured, and one person has been confirmed dead.
Emergency crews are currently on the scene, working to clear debris and assess the damage. The Red Cross has set up a shelter for displaced residents.
